History of The Endwell Church of Christ
These 6 met through advertising in the Gospel Advocate. They met in
homes until they rented a room at the YMCA. Their names were: Dan and
Joyce Tiffany, Bill Tiffany, Art and Dorothy Pemberton, Willadeen
Brooks and her 3 children.
While at the YMCA Jay and Fay Hall, William and Mary Fields, Troy
Williams were added to the church.
After we rented space on Oakdale Road we had people who came to be
members: Larry (the first fulltime preacher) and Dorothy Roberts,
Marcia Kelly, Robert and Gloria Ford and family, Dayle and Jean Love,
Charles and Maryl Buchanan and family, and James and Margaret
Crispell and family.
We held gospel meetings in the summer time every year. The preachers
who came and held the meetings were very moving, made us want to work
hard to spread the gospel. We needed a building to worship in and
trusted God to provide. We asked people and churches to help us with
the money for our building. It was because we had faith in God that He
would bless us for the cause of Christ. The rest is history.
